John Blevins is a healthcare technology executive with 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and corporate finance. During his career he has helped develop, fund, and grow dozens of venturebacked healthcare IT, medtech, and life sciences companies. John began his healthcare career in 1993 as a Clinical Technician, working directly with patients in the clinical setting and supporting surgeons in the operating room. In 1996, John joined IDX Systems Corporation (acquired by GE) where he led the sale of enterprise-wide revenue cycle and clinical information systems to many of the most well-known and largest health systems in the country. In 2004, John joined the healthcare investment banking team at WR Hambrecht+Co where he executed over a billion dollars in equity and equity-linked transactions for early-stage health care and life sciences companies. As the financial crisis began unfolding in 2007, John returned to operating roles with venture-backed healthcare IT companies including, RemedyMD, CodeRyte (acquired by 3M), and Advanced Practice Strategies (acquired by Relias Learning). In 2015, John launched Healthcare Venture Development to help healthcare entrepreneurs validate, refine, and realize emergent market opportunities. Since 2018, John has led Strategic Business Development at Health Fidelity, a UPMC Enterprisesbacked company that leverages natural language processing (NLP) to help health plans and health systems succeed in value-based care arrangements. John received his B.S. in Business from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and his M.B.A. with concentration in Private Equity Finance from the University of Texas at Austin where he received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence and was a Sord Scholar. After more than 25 years in the healthcare industry, John’s passion for, and dedication to, improving U.S. healthcare by leveraging information technology and aligning stakeholders through sensible, effective policy is stronger than ever.
